Regional travel poised to take off

Qantas is set to ramp up its flight schedule into Mount Gambier in coming weeks, with hundreds more seats available.

From December 6, Qantas will increase flights from Mount Gambier-Adelaide to six weekly return services and also resume its Mount Gambier-Melbourne route with six weekly return flights.

A Qantas spokesperson said there would be morning and evening flight times scheduled, increasing accessibility to the Limestone Coast.

“The schedule will allow Adelaide travellers to enjoy a full day in Mount Gambier, and Mount Gambier travellers to enjoy nearly a full day in Melbourne,” the spokesperson said.

“The new schedule starting 6 December means that Qantas will be offering 1200 seats each week to and from Mount Gambier.

“We are currently operating two return flights each week between Mount Gambier and Adelaide.

“We’re pleased to be significantly ramping up our flights to and from Mount Gambier from December.

“These flights will offer the Mount Gambier community more choice and a convenient schedule suited to business travel with onward connections to our extensive network.

“We’re continuing to work with our tourism partners to promote the region to millions of our frequent flyers around the country.”
