Reid ‘all about it’ with strong score

Abig field of South East veteran golfers turned up at Blue Lake course in perfect weather, but there was only one outstanding score


Seventy-three golfers hit the course, with new member Doug Reid having a great first outing with the group, scoring 38 in Division 1.


Reid had a successful day collecting coins from all the Attamurra players, as well as the winner’s prize.


Runner up was Terry Chant with 36 from Mark Pilmore (35), with the Millicent lads counting out Barry Turnbull of Bordertown.


Second division went to Millicent’s Richard Benyon with 36 from Allan Webster (35) and Naracoorte’s lone representative Bob Davies (34).


The nearest the pins went to Bill Mullan and John Millhouse and the Ross Orchard trophy was won by Penola’s Billy Cheers and Port Mac’s Ken Clarke.


The ball rundown was to 31 or better and tThe Scotch went home to Millicent with Andy Fisher.


The group’s next game is March 17 including its AGM at the Mount Gambier course in an Ambrose format, followed by Naracoorte on March 31.
