Millicent’s two remaining regulated shops – Wooldworths and Foster’s Foodland – have received special permission from the State Government to trade on Easter Saturday.
Treasurer Rob Lucas has granted the exemption and wished the Millicent community and shopkeepers well after a challenging 12 months.
The customary application for an exemption has a set process to follow and the Millicent Business Community Association must seek public feedback. MBCA chairman Lee Morgan said no objections were received. Easter Saturday is a designated public holiday and so an exemption must always be obtained. They will be shut on the three other days of the Easter holiday long weekend
