Riders raise charity funds

An afternoon of bikes and brews held recently raised money for a local charity.

Mount Gambier business DPG Detailing organised the Rides, Tunes and Brews event at Jens Town Hall Hotel.

Owner Dale Guthrie said he wanted to arrange an event for all lovers of bikes and cars, enabling them to meet like-minded people.

“We displayed vehicles and bikes that we have detailed and applied paint protection too,” he said.

Entertainment was provided by local DJ LT Balkin and DJ Bongo and Adelaide DJ Amando.

“The day was a big success with the Jens courtyard being packed all afternoon,” Mr Guthrie said.

“We also ran a raffle with 100% of the proceeds being donated to local charity Spare Ya Change 4 Kids.

“This raised over $600 with prizes being donated by DPG detailing, The Brass Duck Barbershop, Jens Hotel and Confession Coffee Shop.”

Mr Guthrie said about 200 people attended and he hoped to make it an annual event.
