Despite almost 200 onlookers, a Robe house did not sell at auction on Saturday morning.
There were a number of registered bidders but none declared their hand when bids were invited.
Auctioneer Laryn Gogel said the vendor had the right to make a declared bid but did not do so.
Mr Gogel said the Wrattonbully Road house would remain on the market and invited would-be purchasers to contact the agents-in-conjunction.
The two-storied house was erected in 2010 and sits on a 330 square metre allotment.
It has commanding views of the Front Beach and Guichen Bay and has two bathrooms and four bedrooms.
It has a small garden which was another feature pointed out by Mr Gogel in a light-hearted way.
“You do not come on holidays to cut the lawns,” joked Mr Gogel.
Wrattonbully Road was developed “above” Robe Primary School in the post-war years and takes advantage of the sea vistas and location near the town centre.
It takes its name from the original property developers who came from the Wrattonbully farming district and only has 14 allotments.
The vendors are “Wrattonbully Investments Number Two” and this company is understood to be associated with a prominent Mount Gambier business family.
On the previous weekend, a two-storied home on The Esplanade at Robe’s Long Beach also did not sell at auction.
It is understood to be owned by an Adelaide specialist who practises in Mount Gambier.
