South Gambier v West Gambier
South Gambier have been put in a tough situation as they head into bat on day two against a tough West Gambier bowling attack at Marist Park in the Barber Shield.
The Roos got themselves into a solid position with the bat on day one after making a score of 166.
They backed their batting performance up with an even better performance with the ball as they took seven wickets in 28 overs, holding the Dees to 41 runs.
The Dees have got an uphill battle from here with Robbie Drenthen and Jared Kuhl set to resume at the crease.
Despite having a small margin of error both Drenthen and Kuhl have the ability to turn this game around and put up a big score.
It should be interesting to see how they will go against a West side looking to get them out early.
Bray Stephenson and Sam Willis will be planning to take their form with the ball from last Saturday into the second day. Both bowled well with Stephenson taking four wickets while Willis nabbed two.
Their main goal on Saturday will be to get South all out early to help bring them one step closer to victory.
Penola v East Gambier
Penola have put themselves in a good position ahead of day two as they take on East Gambier in Penola.
The Doggies struggled a bit at the crease on day one, only making a score of 116.
However they did well to take a few wickets from Penola in the back end of the day with one of them being Jack Mullan who has been in great form lately.
Penola currently sits on 32 runs with Eli Hunter and Drew Clayfield at the crease.
Both did a great job at settling into the match and they should be in a great position to do some damage on Saturday. Clayfield has already done some solid work, making 21 off 29.
Down the list Penola still has plenty of players who can put some runs on the board.
The Doggies are going to need a big performance from plenty of their bowlers such as Alex and Ben Hentschke on day two.
Both started well with the ball on day one with Alex taking a wicket but they will definitely want to get going on day two to slow down Penola’s run attack.
This should be an interesting match on Saturday as both sides are still very capable of taking the win and after the T20 semi final it should be a great watch as to how these two sides go at it.
Mil Lel v North Sportsmans
Mil Lel will pick up where they left off last Saturday as they head into bat for their second innings against North Sportsmans at Frew Park.
Both sides struggled a bit on day one with neither of them cracking the century mark.
Mil Lel got close in the opening innings, scoring 91 while the Tigers made 86 in their first.
Mil Lel will head into day two on a clean slate with no wickets to their name after playing out four overs to end the day.
Mil Lel has got plenty of players who can go big on day two with the bat including Jarrod Sanders, Nick Walters and Will Rowland.
The trio will definitely look to make the bulk of the runs for Mil Lel to help put them in a good position to win.
North will have to go back to the same formula they had in Mil Lel’s first innings.
The Tigers bowled well with Declan Kenny taking three wickets while Isaac Mulraney took two.
The Tigers will be looking to get Mil Lel out early so they can have a reasonable amount of time to chase down the runs.
However, Mil Lel they will be looking to stay at the crease for a solid innings and build a run total to put pressure on the Tigers.
Given how this match could play out there’s a high chance it could come down to the wire.
