SafeWork SA looks into servo gas video

SafeWork SA is investigating an incident at a Mount Gambier service station following an alleged release of LPG.

Police were called to the Jubilee Highway West premises on the weekend after members of the public reported seeing a large cloud coming from a gas tank, with a video shared on Facebook seemingly showing a person standing in the middle of the cloud.

A SAPOL spokesperson said while officers attended, all queries should be referred to the Environment Protection Authority, who then said it was a matter for SafeWork SA.

A SafeWork SA spokesperson said an investigation was under way.

“I can confirm SafeWork SA is aware of and undertaking enquiries with respect to the information,” the spokesperson said.

“I have no further information at this time.”
