Saleyards activity

The truck wash at the Millicent Saleyards continues to enjoy strong patronage despite all selling at the facility ceasing almost two years ago.

Wattle Range Council chief executive Ben Gower said the facility was operating at about 85% of the capacity when sales were held there.

While long-distance stock transports were no longer coming to Millicent but local farmers and hauliers were using the truck wash.

Meanwhile, deputy chief executive Paul Duka said he would be submitting reports about the sale of council land at Lossie Lane at Millicent as well as the acquisition of State Government land in Fifth Street at Millicent.

He said a report would be coming to council about the possible sale of four properties for non-payment of rates.
