Seaside clash expected to make waves

Port MacDonnell is set to host Robe for its first home game of the 2022 Mid South Eastern Netball Association season.

The combination of Alana Winter and Belinda O’Dine in the defensive circle will put the pressure on the Robe goalies Tori Gluyas and Sarah Laurie. However, both Gluyas and Laurie’s accuracy will be a focal point for the Roosters, while Toni Gilmore’s experience and leadership on court will be an asset to the Bay.

Robe will not want to give up the top spot on the ladder.

Kalangadoo would have been happy with last week’s win against Mount Burr. Abbey Duncan’s return has given some experience to the Pies’ goal circle to support youngster Kori Collins.

Reanna Wetherall and Lauren Kain in defence will look to shut down the high work rate of Ange Pratt and Tahlia Wilson for Nangwarry at the attacking end.

Tantanoola will be looking to bounce back from last week against Kongorong.

Michelle Robinson had to fill Casey Walker’s shoes last week and may have to do it again.

Sarah Lucas and Emily Lightbody combined well last week and may well be given the job on Jami Walker and Emma Gould if Buckingham is needed in the attacking end again.

Kongorong is definitely on the improve but Tantanoola should away with the points.

Hatherleigh is fresh from the bye and will come up against a strong Glencoe outfit.

Sarah Edwards and youngster Chelsea Owen are working well together in defence and will ensure that which ever goalie combination the Eagles decide on works hard for every shot.

Both Demi Vanderhorst and Maddie Redman can switch from goals to defence and their strength may be required to limit the opportunities to Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz.

The tussle between Donna Jaeschke and Tegan Telfer in centre will be one to watch.

Hatherleigh are still settling their side and this has caused disruption to their season so far and they will be aiming to bounce back after losing their last two games.

However, Glencoe will look to cement its spot in second and will score the win.
