The 25th World Scout Jamboree has recently come to a close with a closing ceremony in Seoul bringing the event to an end with the locals who attended.
Six locals made the trip to South Korea for the event which comes around once every four years.
The Limestone Coast members who travelled to the event included one from Mount Gambier, three from Penola and two from Naracoorte, all aged between 14 to 17.
There was also one leader from Penola in attendance.
The Jamboree is a massive global event with 900 Australians attending the event and a further 43,000 people in total participating from 158 countries.
The opening ceremony was an exciting event for all the Scouts in attendance, featuring a drone event and an appearance from British adventurer Bear Grylls.
The two week event featured a range of cultural and outdoor activities, including visiting temples, quad biking, waterparks and amusement park Lochi World.
Local Scout Colby Ind was one of many Scouts to swap uniforms with a fellow attendee from a different country, as he wandered around the city in a German uniform.
It was not all smooth sailing for the event though as the Scouts were sent back to Seoul three days early due to heat waves and a looming typhoon.
Fortunately the South Korean government was instructed to provide support to help the Scouts leaving the country in the looming conditions.
The next Jamboree will be held in Australia in Queensland in 2025 with a group of around nine Scouts from Mount Gambier planning to attend the event.
