Shooters set sights on helping dementia-affected residents

South East Field and Game Association members have shot the lights out when it comes to fundraising.

The association donated $10,200 to local aged care provider Boandik Lodge for the Boandik Dementia Village project in honour of life member and dementia-afffected resident Faye Klieve.

The clay shooting club held a Faye Klieve Memorial shoot sponsored by Faye’s husband Peter Klieve to honour their beloved member.

Association president Charles Wallis said members were proud to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“There were 98 shooters at the shoot itself with Faye’s family presenting the prizes at presentations and an auction afterwards,” he said.

“Amongst the donations were seven lambs, wine, a white Suffolk Ram and redgum furniture made bt Mr Klieve and others.

“We had plenty of people attend, we had what they wanted, and everything was donated.

“We are very happy to say that we have raised $10,000 for this multimillion-dollar project.

“It is a big project and hopefully this donation will help out.”
