Sides seek football rhythm

The Limestone Coast Women’s Football League under 16 competition will head to the home of the Kybybolite Tigers tomorrow night for round two from 6pm.

After having their first hit out for the season at Kongorong last weekend, coaches and player will be fine-tuning their game plans as the season progresses.

The South Gambier Demons are primed to take on early pace setters Hatherleigh and the Eagles will still be still soaring high from last weekend’s victories.

First time Hatherleigh coach Laura Chester will look for her team to continue last week’s good form, while South Gambier coach Tracy Eady will be keen for her players to mount a solid challenge.

Hatherleigh will look to captain Niah Faulkner, as well as Hannah and Chloe Bellinger and Edie Easterby to run and carry the ball, while South will need Bailey Broome, Ella Guest and Sophie Wright to perform for the Demons.

This game will hang in the balance, but a tight battle will be had by both teams.

Kybybolite will also play host to Kongorong in an interesting match, with neither team securing a win last round and new players coming into the sides requiring a bit of time to settle into a rhythm.

Both coaches should be pleased with what they saw in last week’s matches and will have the confidence of their players come Friday night.

The Tigers and Hawks match up well with run and carry type players and also have some bullocking types as well.

It will come down to the side that settles first and applies the scoreboard pressure, while not allowing the opposition to attack early.

Kongorong will be sweating on the fitness of Stevie Collins with an ankle injury and Evie Sealey with cramping, but should have the depth to cover these players.

Kybybolite will be keen to get the points as well and will look to Zara East, Ruby Sambell and Evie Koch while Kongorong will need Collins and Jasmin McKinnon to be focused on the prize. This game will be a tight affair and will provide some great entertainment for the crowd.

North Gambier Tigers have the bye this round.
