Signal low on phone tower start dates

No start date on the region’s 27 additional mobile phone towers has yet been announced despite funding from the three tiers of government being secured almost a year ago.

Member for MacKillop Nick McBride was present in the Millicent CFS shed when Premier Peter Malinauskas announced that funds had been committed. Mr McBride directed a query to Mr Malinauskas in the House of Assembly last week and received a reply.

Premier Malinauskas said his State Government continues to be engaged with the Commonwealth and local government.

“We are working to establish exactly what that timeframe will be,” Premier Malinauskas said.

“We would like to see this rolled out expeditiously.

“We understand the Commonwealth Government is going through a process at the moment in respect of round 3 of the Regional Connectivity Program, but we want to know exactly when and where the installation of these projects will commence.”
