‘Silly’ bowlers battle through tough weather

Atotal of 24 brave or silly bowlers played the game of 2-4-2 bowls at Millicent Bowls Club last week.

The format is usually normally played over 20 ends but due to the poor weather conditions this week’s game was cut back to 18 ends allowing the players to have a nice warm cup of coffee or tea or perhaps something stronger.

The team marching to the overall winner’s prize of $24 was Steve Skeer and Bill Burdon with a score of 32+20.

In second place with a score of 31+17 was David Reichelt and Derrick Lindh winning the $5 bar voucher.

Other winning teams were, Peter Dunnicliff and Neil Whelan 31+4, Malcolm Wright and Iain Campbell 30+9, Jim Campbell and Robert Radley 30+5 and Denis Clifford and John Buhlmann 30+4.
