Skate comp gets rolling

Young riders can head to the Millicent Skate Park for the first day of the school holidays on Saturday to compete in the various skate, scooter and BMX events.

COVID-related factors had led to the cancellation of last month’s scheduled program.

The Skate Park League competitions are community-based, grass-roots events focused on embracing skate park culture and bringing the community together.

All competitors will go in the draw to win one of the raffled off prizes.

This encourages participation and ensures everyone has a chance to win.

There are male and female sections along with underage and open events.

The heats begin at 11am and the action on North Terrace continues for the next five hours.

Helmets must be worn be all competitors.

Free All Aboard Skateboarding Sessions will be staged on Sunday.

The weekend sponsors are Sport Aus, Wattle Range Council, Skate Australia, Cycling Australia, YMCA SA, Element, Goliath Skate, Skater Maps, Scooter Hut, Root Industries and Own Life.
