The Mount Gambier Softball League has nominated a side for the upcoming State Country Championships, due to take place next weekend on the 22-24th of January.
Whilst the viability of the event is by no means secure, Mount Gambier has never the less put together a strong side of youth and experience to take it up to their Adelaide rivals in the A grade competition.
The team consists of Concordes representatives Billie Jones, Dana Jones, Maddie Bowd, Monana Millard, Mackenzie Millard and Alli Kreplins, with Leyna Bruggemann, Sarah Polderman and Justine Koop from Warriors.
Mount Gambier has again been lucky enough to secure the services of gun pitcher Jade Peterson of Seacombe/Glenelg, who has already racked up over 100 k2’s in the Adelaide competition before Christmas.
Under the guidance of coach Allana Feast the teams looks forward to a strong showing if the tournament is lucky enough to proceed.
