Borderline Speedway is set for a big night of racing on Saturday as night two of the Easter Sprintcar Trail comes to town.
The meeting will also feature the high powered Super Rods in the final event of the local racing season.
Borderline Speedway has hosted the popular Easter meet for many years, sharing the event with Warrnambool Speedway.
The Sprintcar trail will have a good roll up of cars with several locals competing including Parker Scott, Glen Sutherland, Scott Enderl and Daniel Pestka.
Along with the local drivers there are several other notable sprint car drivers racing on Saturday night including Luke Dillon.
The majority of drivers hail from South Australia and Victoria with 27 entries in the class racing on the night.
Complementing the Sprintcars will be 19 Super Rods, including local Josh Aston racing in the Humphris Motorsport car.
To add to the racing action there will also be 10 Street Stock cars that will be racing on the night to fill in some spots in the program.
Event organiser Cary Jennings hopes to have a good turnout for the final meet of the season.
“It will be great to see a lot of people out there on the weekend and supporting Borderline Speedway for the final night of this year’s 24/25 season,” he said.
On April 27 the speedway will host a volunteer lunch and promotions day thank the many volunteers who help during the season.
Along with the lunch volunteers will be given the opportunity to drive in the cars that race on speedway nights as long as the club has obtained a day licence from Speedway Australia.
“That creates a lot of interest, we seem to get 30 to 50 people there and we swap cars and let people enjoy their day,” Jennings said.
“Sometimes they put their mechanics or the people that helped them during the year in the car and give them a show and appreciation of what they have done for them during the year.”
Gates will open at 4pm on Saturday with racing kicking off at 5pm.
