State success tasted ahead of national comp

Mount Gambier indoor bowler Serena Bourn has continued her success in the sport.

Bourn won the South Australian State Ladies Singles Championship recently, her second successive ladies single title.

Bourn then paired up with Daniel Langdon on the weekend to win the South Australian State Mixed Pairs Championship.

The game was tight all the way through. After the allocated 16 ends the scores were tied, with the pair taking the title on the extra end by one shot.

Meanwhile, the Mount Gambier District Indoor Bowls Association will once again provide a large contingent of players in the South Australian state team.

With 52 players named in the SA team, 22 will represent the Mount Gambier District Indoor Bowls Association, which is a record number from the association.

This year’s Australian National Indoor Bowls Championships will be played in Tanunda from August 26-31.
