Summer salver final round

Summer salver final round

The final round of the Summer Salver which was postponed in February due to extreme heat conditions, was played in a stroke format last Wednesday at Attamurra.

Scores from the previous rounds of stroke, par and stableford held earlier this year are included to determine the overall winner who will be presented with her trophy donated by life member, Isobel Phillips in the near future.

Denise Harvey produced a great score of 91 off the stick to win with a nett 69 for the final round. Harvey played the back nine first and dropped three shots, but took control on the front nine with a birdie on the third hole and pars on the last two holes.

Betty McKechnie played a very steady round being three under at the turn before finishing with 97/nett 71 to take the runner-up prize. Third placing was the consistent Bev Pedlar with a credible 93/nett 74.

The pro shot winner on the eighth hole was Jane Lamont who scored a birdie for her great shot. The second shot on the long par five opening hole was won by Jennifer Van Ritjhoven, A grade, Jennette Braun B grade and Donna Jennings C grade.

Ball run down winners were Faye Mainwaring and Marie Douglas 75, Sue Downs, Chris Galpin and Carol Davis 76, Janina Morrison and Jennette Braun, both 77. Only a small field of 13 played a stroke round on Saturday.

McKechnie carried on from where she left off on Wednesday to take home the winner’s prize finishing with nett 73.

Maxine McGregor was runner-up with nett 76, while Di O’Donnell, Heather Chapman, both and Kerry Pedlar were the ball rundown winners.
