Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Millicent in the early hours of Friday morning which caused extensive damage to a vehicle and a domestic shed.

At about 1.50am, ambulance, police and fire crews were called to a house in Clinton Street after reports that a Mitsubishi four-wheel-drive had been set alight.

The blaze also damaged the shed but was extinguished soon after by eight volunteer fire-fighters from two Millicent CFS appliances.

A jerry can was located near the car. A police guard was posted until crime scene examiners arrived on-site mid-morning.
