Teenager found not guilty over head-on crash

AMillicent teenager has been found not guilty of dangerous driving in a head-on crash that killed three people on the Princes Highway at Compton in 2020.

After a four-day trial by judge alone in Mount Gambier last month, Youth Court Judge Penny Eldridge delivered her verdict in Adelaide on Thursday morning.

The 17-year-old male was found guilty of the less serious charge of careless driving.

He will face submissions on sentence in Mount Gambier in September.

Millicent residents Ned and Nan Walker and their daughter Sue Skeer died in the collision.

At the time of the collision, the teen was 16 and was on a learner’s permit.
