Mount Gambier High School proudly hosted the South East Zone Interschool Swimming Carnival at Wulanda Recreation Centre recently.
The event highlighted exceptional talent and sportsmanship from high schools across the region, with students delivering impressive performances throughout the day.
Tenison Woods College showcased dominance in the pool, securing top honours in the 13-year, 15-year and Open Age groups. Bordertown High School also had an impressive showing, claiming victories in the 14-year and 16-year age categories.
Two new records were set during the event: Stella Jones of Tenison Woods College set a new record of 48.09 seconds in the 13-year-old 50m Breaststroke, while Mitchell Dening from St Martins Lutheran College recorded a new best of 48.11 seconds in the same event.
The competition was intense, with schools vying for points in every race.
In the end, Tenison Woods College emerged as the overall winner, edging out Bordertown High School by just eight points, followed by St Martins Lutheran College, Grant High School and Mount Gambier High School.
