Tensions rise in KNT netball

Kybybolite v Mundulla

In round 13 of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association season teams made a bid to cement their spots for the upcoming final series.

Kybybolite was in total control of its match against Mundulla, with four quarters of solid netball played despite some attacks from its opposition.

Montanna Hole was instrumental for Kyby shooting 37 goals and was supported by Charlee Hodges with 35, while Georgie Maggi also played well.

Mundulla made some big plays in the second and fourth terms led by Kellsey Hinge and Paige Marra, but it was not enough.

Border Districts v Lucindale

Powerhouse sides Border Districts and Lucindale faced off in a solid battlle.

The Eagles are flying and had another good win over the Roos at home to seal the top spot.

Consistency in the first two quarters set up the game despite Lucindale trying to come back in the third term, but it was not enough to take the win.

Border Districts ran away with an eight-goal win with Kelsie Moyle-Read and Poppy Moyle-Read the top performers.

Bordertown v Penola

Atight battle was had in the contest between the Roosters and the Eagles.

Penola fired early in the first quarter to take a handy eight-goal lead at the first change, but in the second both teams drew level.

The Eagles managed to sneak ahead to go into the fourth term full of confidence.

Drawing on that third-quarter break Penola came home with a win by five goals and now sits fifth on the ladder.

The Roosters’ best were Lucy Murch and Clare Langley while for the Eagles Brooke Klemm and Siobhan Adams got the job done.

Keith v Naracoorte

The Crows played host to the Demons and used a home court advantage to claim a 16-goal win.

Keith shot out like a bullet in the opening term and was relentless across the entire game thanks to Fiona Evans and Whitney Smith.

Chloe Burke and Ash Bennier played some good netball for Naracoorte but were not able to keep up with the Crows’ flight.

Keith now sits in fourth place on the ladder, two points ahead of Penola.
