North Gambier Football and Netball Club has announced Ben Hardy and Lewis Lean as co-coaches for the club’s senior women’s football team in the upcoming 2023 Limestone Coast Women’s Football League season.
After a successful season in 2022, the Tigers look forward to the challenge of the 2023 season.
Hardy, who has recently resigned as coach of the senior men’s team, is looking forward to his new appointment at the Tigers.
“It is a great opportunity to revisit where my coaching journey started, in women’s football,” he said.
“I’m excited to share this opportunity with Lewis as we look to continue building the foundations of a successful women’s football program at North.”
Lean, eager to extend his coaching experience from a junior level to senior women’s, is looking forward to the upcoming season with the Tigers.
“I wanted to join a culture that has a great focus on developing footballers while having players enjoy their football during the process,” Lean said.
“My goal is to continue developing on field performance whilst building upon off field club culture.”
Lean said his aim was to fundamentally develop the players as better footballers and provide them with an opportunity to thrive within their sporting environment.
With the 2023 senior women’s season set to kick off in late January, pre-season training is fast approaching.
The new-look coaching group is set to host a ‘meet and greet’ session for all existing and prospective players in the coming weeks with official pre-season sessions to start shortly after.
