Tigers’ winning run continues in style

A grand final rematch was played in the Lower South East Hockey Association’s top division, with Tigers taking on West in a match that continued the former’s dominant season run. Tigers took the win on the day with a 4-0 victory over West, in a more one-sided affair than its grand final match, which saw the game go down to the wire in a penalty shootout in 2020.

The other match for round seven saw Strikers play Redbacks, with the former winning a 6-0 match, with two goals apiece bagged by Jordan Millhouse, Dean McCarthy and Connor Millhouse. After the week, the ladder remains unchanged for the men’s division one, with Tigers on top but Strikers in close pursuit, followed by West and Redbacks.

Meanwhile, the division one women’s teams saw a reverse of fortunes, with West beating Tigers 1-0. Angela Broad scored the crucial goal, while Redbacks found it slightly easier going beating Strikers 3-1. Stephanie Wighton, Lauren Manser and Jade Delaney were the top performers for the victors.

In round eight, both winners in the division one women’s league will face-off, with West taking on Redbacks, followed by Tigers taking on Strikers.
