Timms top honour

The Coonawarra wine community is celebrating the success of Hannah Timms, who has been selected as one of only 12 participants across South Australia to receive a scholarship to the new Art and Science of Sustainable Wine Business and Tourism Executive Program.

Delivered by the Adelaide Business School at the University of Adelaide, the six-day program is part of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network initiative, supporting future-focused business development in the wine and tourism sectors.

Participants will gain expert insights into branding, innovation, digital communications and visitor experience design, with a strong emphasis on sustainable growth in regional areas.

Ms Timms, a seasoned hospitality and wine industry professional, brings over 15 years of experience in hospitality and more than a decade in the wine sector.

She has worked with three of Coonawarra’s most esteemed wineries including Hollick Estates and Wynns Coonawarra, honing her expertise in wine sales, events, and customer experience.

She now leads the events and sales operations at Raidis Estate, a family-owned winery known for its customer-focused and sustainability-driven approach and is thrilled to have been awarded the scholarship.

“I’m feeling incredibly grateful to have been selected as one of only 12 participants for the Executive Business Program scholarship,” Ms Timms said.

“I’m excited to learn from industry leaders and connect with passionate professionals who share a love for wine, tourism, and regional growth.

“I look forward to applying what I learn to help strengthen the Coonawarra wine region, elevate guest experiences, and contribute to the future of South Australia’s wine industry.”

The program forms part of South Australia’s strategy to drive innovation and leadership across its wine regions and attract talent into the evolving wine and tourism industries.

The University of Adelaide’s Program Director of Wine Business at Adelaide Business School Dr David Jaud said the incredible opportunity will bring together talented individuals from diverse backgrounds and wine regions across South Australia.

“Their collective experience and skills will spark insightful discussions, fresh perspectives, and valuable networking opportunities,” he said.

Coonawarra Vignerons executive officer Hugh Koch congratulated Ms Timms on her selection in the program.

“Hannah’s dedication to regional development and her passion for Coonawarra make her an outstanding recipient of this scholarship,” he said.

“We are incredibly proud to see her represent our region in such a forward-thinking national program.”

The Executive Business Program will run across May and June 2025, offering participants a dynamic and immersive learning experience focused on future-ready strategies for wine tourism excellence.
