The Limestone Coast Toastmasters recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with a competition, dinner at the Blue Lake Golf Club and visit to Caroline Hills Winery.
The dinner was attended by 30 guests travelling from as far as Melbourne including Toastmasters area director C9 Emma Hiscock and original Limestone Coast Toastmasters member Peter Stuart who cut the cake.
During the day there was a competition with different categories of evaluation, table topics, humorous and international.
Jim Bost won evaluation, table topics and humorous while placing runner up in international.
Limestone Coast Toastmasters membership officer Andrea Braun took out international and placed second in evaluation, humorous and table topics.
Mrs Braun said she could not fault the weekend and it went off without a hitch.
“I performed two songs on the evening of I am Australian and a Limestone Coast Toastmasters remix of Love Is All Around Me which no-one, not even the president, knew about so that was a nice surprise,” she said.
“The visit to Caroline Hills Winery was a fantastic way to finish off the weekend and to just relax and enjoy everyone’s company.
“The whole weekend was a fitting celebration of our achievement as the longest continuous Toastmasters Club in Australia.”
