A Penola-made gin has been recognised at a national gin awards. St Mary’s Wines and Spirits was thrilled that one of its family of spirits had been acknowledged with a GinNation Consumer Gin Award.

St Mary’s London Dry Gin was judged Best in Class and also received the Gold Award at the 2020 GinNation Awards – Australia’s first consumer driven gin awards and created to provide a powerful synergy between consumer and distiller.

Australia’s most experienced gin consumer judges determined the award winners with all judging completed via a professional and thorough process. Held in Sydney, judging was conducted as a blind tasting session and judges were pre-selected via a rigorous process to ensure all were experienced consumers of gin.

St Mary’s Vineyard was established in 1985 and is owned and operated by the Mulligan family. Every stage in the traditional process of making St Mary’s Wines and Spirits is carried out on the estate.
