Top End recruit heads South to join Pioneers

The OneFortyOne Pioneers women have signed a new face for the 2025 NBL1 South season.

Twenty-two-year-old guard Catherine MacGregor will be an exciting young player and fresh new face for the team and is looking forward to the opportunity of competing within the NBL1 South conference.

Originally from Ipswich in Queensland, MacGregor has had 68 games of experience competing in the NBL1 North conference.

In 2024 MacGregor played with the Darwin Salties, averaging 11.53 points a game together with 3.18 assists and 3.94 rebounds.

Head Coach Matt Sutton said he was delighted to sign someone of MacGregor’s experience for 2025.

“Catherine will be a great addition to our group, she loves the game of basketball and wants to continue to progress her game,” he said.

“Her ability to score will be important for us as well as her ability to defend multiple positions at a high level.”

The OneFortyOne Pioneers will hit the court in late March although a number of pre season games and tournaments will be announced soon in and around the Limestone Coast.
