Tough round of footy ahead

Kybybolite v Casterton Sandford

Casterton will head to Kybybolite on Friday night to take on the Casterton Sandford in the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League.

The Cats are coming off a heartbreaking loss last round where they fell short by only two points, whereas Kyby will be well rested after having the bye.

So far the Tigers have been miles in front of the competition as they stand as the only undefeated side.

After the loss last round the Cats will be hungry to get on the field and get back on the winners list.

The Cats will need to improve on their goal kicking going into this game as it really affected them last week and was one of the reasons they suffered the tough loss.

However, I think Kyby will be just a bit too strong for the Cats this week so I am tipping towards the reigning premiers coming out on top.

Nangwarry v Kongorong

Nangwarry will take on Kongorong on Sunday at Vansittart Park.

Both sides had tough losses last week with one much bigger than the other.

So far this season Kongorong have been solid but have struggled with consistency and stacking wins.

Nangwarry on the other hand have continued to struggle week after week this season and have not really played a competitive game yet.

This will be a good game for the Hawks to get them back on track as they still have a solid shot of making the top four with three games to play.

With this being a game to get the Hawks season back on track I think they will get the job done and get back in the winners circle.

Penola v South Gambier

Penola and South Gambier will face off this Sunday at Vansittart Park.

Both sides are coming off great wins last week despite them playing very different competition.

Penola pulled off the upset win over the previously undefeated North Gambier in a convincing 23 point victory.

That win will be a huge confidence booster for the Eagles heading into the back end of the season and finals.

South on the other hand started slow to begin the season but have found their footing over the past two weeks with back to back wins.

The Eagles will need to continue their great goal kicking if they want to win this game.

Over the past few games Penola has kicked the ball really well, only kicking two points last week and four the week before that, and if they continue that accuracy they will be a very tough team to beat.

Given how well both sides have been playing lately this game should be very competitive and a great watch.

North Gambier v Mundulla

North Gambier will host Mundulla this Sunday at Vansittart Park.

Mundulla are coming off a thrilling win over the Cats while North suffered their first loss of the season to the Eagles.

Both teams have been very good this season and are both considered premiership contenders.

As it stands North has the slight edge over Mundulla on the ladder with North in second and Mundulla third.

This game is a crucial one for both sides as a win will help put some space above the losing side.

This should be a competitive game between two very good sides that will likely meet in the finals.

I think given North is coming off an uncharacteristic loss last week it will give them the motivation they need to get back on the winners list this round.
