Amajor telco has provided an update on a project to erect 27 additional mobile phone towers across the Limestone Coast region.
“Telstra is currently working with the South Australian Government to finalise round three of the Regional Connectivity Program,” a Telstra spokesperson said.
“Once this has occurred, work will commence to deliver the 27 sites.”
The SE Voice has confirmed the process to obtain planning permission at the 27 sites has yet to begin.
Last month, Treasurer Stephen Mullighan said public servants from four State Government departments were working on the funding agreement.
The 27 additional towers had been announced by Premier Peter Malinauskas to great fanfare at a press conference at the Millicent fire station almost 18 months ago.
