Town centre plan revealed

Town centre plan revealed

A draft Millicent town centre concept design has been developed by consultants WAX Design, based on community input gathered in a survey and workshop sessions held in 2020.

The project aims to enhance and protect the unique character of the town’s main street, encouraging increased activation, story-telling and cultural representation and providing a welcoming space for residents, businesses and visitors.

The draft plan was tabled at council’s April monthly meeting in Millicent and was endorsed for public release without any comment from either councillors or staff. Council is now seeking community comment on the Millicent Town Centre Draft Concept Design and it may be viewed on its website.

In accordance with council’s public consultation policy, the public is invited to comment and make formal representation on the proposal. A survey has been developed to obtain constructive feedback on the draft.

Written and emailed comments will be accepted by council until May 24. WAX Design will host an hourlong community presentation and Q&A session on the draft from 5.30pm on May 17 in the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.
