Town to send best wishes

Members of the Beachport community are invited to thank retiring postmistress Piarena Monckton at a morning tea in the old Beachport Institute/South Coast Cinema at 10.30am tomorrow (Wednesday).

Ms Monckton held the position for over 30 years after moving to Beachport from interstate.

The function has been arranged by the Beachport District Development Association.

Ms Monckton was a keen supporter of such BDDA initiatives as the Beachport New Year’s fireworks.

Although the post office has moved from her shop to premises in Railway Terrace, Ms Monckton will continue to run her Baytree Cottage craft shop in Foster Street.
