Agathering of 300 mourners honoured the life of Mount Burr town and sporting stalwart Noel Seebohm at his graveside funeral service at the Millicent Lawn Cemetery yesterday morning.

Among them were his granddaughter and Olympic swimming gold medallist Emily Seebohm OAM.

Mr Seebohm passed away on September 6 at the age of 93.

Warm tributes were paid by his grandchildren Nathan Muhovics and Rachael Chapple and youngest daughter Lynne Lambert.

They spoke of his dedication to his family, the township of Mount Burr and its sporting clubs.

The 40-minute service was conducted by celebrant Catharina Corman and arranged by Wattle Range Funerals.

Members of the Mount Burr sporting clubs were conspicuous in their green and gold colours.

They formed a guard of honour as six of Mr Seebohm’s grandchildren carried his coffin from the hearse to his grave.

The wake was held at the clubrooms of the Mount Burr United Football Club.
