Truck incident cuts power to homes

Hundreds of residents in Mount Gambier and Suttontown were left without power for several hours following a truck incident on Jubilee Highway West.

The rear trailer of a truck dislodged at the roundabout at Sutton Avenue on Friday evening, colliding with a power pole and bringing down power lines.

The fallen pole came to rest against the roof of a car dealership.

Power was cut to 1830 homes in the area while emergency services cleared the scene and reinstated supply.
