Division 1 – Reidy Park v Uniting
Uniting ended the season on a high note with a bounce back win as they took on Reidy Park at Olympic Park.
In the men’s draw the two sides split the sets in the doubles.
Uniting’s Andrew van den Hurk and Kobe Cole took on Reidy’s Zayne Young and Dane Heemskerk in the top doubles.
Both sets were competitive as the Uniting pair took home the win, winning 6-4, 6-4.
The bottom doubles featured Reidy’s Harrison Ellis and Ryan Angelino up against Uniting’s Daniel Moon and John Hardie Stafford.
The Reidy duo were able to get a win on the board for their side as they defeated Moon and Stafford 6-1, 6-2.
In the singles, Uniting proved strong as they claimed three sets as van den Hurk got the win over Young, beating him 6-0.
Cole was able to get a solid win over Heemskerk as he claimed the set 6-3.
In the bottom two singles both sides split the sets as Moon got a 6-2 win over Ellis while Anglino got a 6-3 victory over Stafford.
Uniting were dominant In the ladies doubles as they claimed all three sets.
In the top doubles, Uniting’s Tessa Megaw and Ashlea Dunn faced Reidy’s Bailey Young and Maggie Collins with Megaw and Dunn winning 6-0.
The middle doubles were much more competitive as Megaw and Jade Delaney took on Young and Sarah Brown.
The match went down to the wire but Megaw and Delaney were just too good as they took the win in a tiebreaker.
The bottom doubles was another competitive contest as Dunn and Delaney took the court against Collins and Brown.
Despite the competitive match the Uniting pair were able to come out on top, winning 6-4.
The momentum from the doubles carried over into the singles as Megaw defeated Young 6-0 while Dunn got the win over Collins, also victorious 6-0.
In the bottom singles Delaney finished the day strong with a 6-3 victory over Brown.
Uniting defeated Reidy Park 10-2.
Mount Schank/Mil Lel/Mount Gambier v Glencoe
Glencoe got a big win over the Div 1 combined side on Saturday as the two sides faced off in Mil Lel.
In the men’s doubles the two sides were able to take a win each.
Glencoe’s Dylan Childs and Patrick Mitchell continued their win streak in the top doubles as they took on Mount Schank’s Will Boston and Alex Laube.
Childs and Mitchell got the win 6-1, 6-2.
In the bottom singles it was a showdown as Mount Schank’s Brendan McInnes and Mil Lel’s Lochie Arnold got the win over Glencoe’s James Braun and Will Maloney.
The Glencoe pair struck first as they claimed the first set in a tiebreaker.
McInnes and Arnold responded well as they tied it up with a 6-4 second set win.
In the third and final super tiebreaker set McInnes and Arnold finished strong as they suckered the set in a 10-6 win.
Both Childs and Mitchell finished strong in the singles as Childs got the win over Boston 6-2 while Mitchell took the win over Laube 6-1.
In the number three singles Braun and McInnes had another intense match.
This time Braun got the better of McInnes, winning 7-5.
Maloney finished strong in the bottom singles as he also avenged his doubles defeat, beating Arnold 6-0.
In the ladies doubles Mil Lel’s Jess Douglas and Kelsey Boneham took on Glencoe’s Sarah Edwards and Giaan Ferguson.
Edwards and Ferguson secured the set 6-0.
Glencoe continued to win in the middle singles as Edwards and Shae Delaney faced Douglas and Paige Telford.
Edwards and Delaney were too good, winning 6-1.
In the bottom doubles it was a much more competitive game as Boneham and Telford took on Ferguson and Delaney.
This match went down to the wire as the Glencoe pair snared the win in a tiebreaker.
Edwards finished strong in the singles with a 6-1 victory over Douglas while Ferguson took the win over Boneham, winning 6-3.
In the bottom singles Delaney finished her day strong, defeating Telford 6-1.
Glencoe defeated Mount Schank/Mil Lel/Mount Gambier – 11-1.
Division 2
In division 2 West Gambier Red finished the first half of the season on a high with an upset win over Mount Gambier. West Red took the win 7-5, securing their first victory of the season.
West Gambier Blue also ended the year well with a big 11-1 win over Suttontown/Glencoe at West.
Division 3
In division 3 Suttontown had a win over Mount Gambier at Olympic Park, 9-3.
Mil Lel had a big win over Centrals/Mount Schank, finishing 12-0 at Olympic Park. This win moved Mil Lel up to second place.
Ladies Doubles
In ladies doubles first placed Reidy Park had a win over second placed West Gambier, winning 5-1.
Glencoe had a big victory over Mil Lel Green in Mil Lel, finishing 6-0.
At Mount Schank Mil Lel White had a solid victory against Mount Schank, winning 6-0.
Mixed Doubles
In mixed doubles Suttontown suffered a tough loss to Uniting/Glencoe at Suttontown with the combined side winning 6-0.
Moorak Grey got a solid 5-1 win over Mount Schank at Moorak while Moorak Green had a tough loss in Glencoe, losing 5-1.
Mount Gambier Green got the win over Mount Gambier Blue, 4-2.
