University student awarded

UniSA Mount Gambier Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) student Kerri Scherer (pictured) has won the UniSA World Teachers’ Day Award 2020.

Ms Scherer has maintained a high Grade Point Average during her studies and showed significant commitment to the education profession, broadening her knowledge of early childhood education through the networks, research and seminars she attended as part of her membership of several education associations.

Ms Scherer said she loved teaching and looked forward to graduating and teaching her own class.

“I am very proud and excited to have won this World Teachers’ Day Award,” she said.

UniSA Regional Manager Ian McKay said the Mount Gambier Campus shared Ms Scherer’s pride and was thrilled a local student received this recognition.

“We regularly hear from schools of the quality of our students and graduates and it is pleasing that a current student has been recognised with such an important award,” he said.
