Unlicensed driver arrested at Millicent

An unlicensed driver was arrested after failing to stop for police in the Limestone Coast on Friday night.

About 7.15pm police tried to pull over a Ford sedan on Princes Highway at Kingston, however the vehicle failed to stop.

It was spotted again at Hatherleigh and police were able to successfully spike the tyres.

The car continued to drive at slow speed on its rims before eventually becoming bogged at Facey Road, Millicent.

The driver, a 27-year-old Millicent man, was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed, driving dangerously to evade police and driving in a reckless manner. He also tested positive to cannabis.

His passenger, a 21-year-old Mount Gambier woman, was also arrested and charged with aiding and abetting dangerous driving to evade police, failing to wear a seatbelt and committing acts likely to cause harm.

Both were bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on November 17.

The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
