Serving and retired army officers feature in the program for the Robe 2 Recovery veteran support weekend which coincides with the annual commemoration of Anzac Day.
Retired officer Joe Day will address Robe footballers after their training session today.
Other veterans will present them with special commemorative guernseys designed by local artist Jordy Kelly.
Lieutenant Colonel Nick Flord will recite the Ode of Remembrance and toss the coin ahead of the seaside football match between reigning premiers Hatherleigh and Robe on Saturday.
The match is a replay of the 2024 Mid South East Football League grand final.
Lieutenant Colonel Floyd is a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and is currently based at the Australian Army headquarter in Canberra.
Other elements arranged by then Robe 2 Recovery committee are best afield and best on court medals for the football and netball A Grade contests.
The medals have been designed and made by Ruffell Jewellers, of Robe.
As before, the Naracoorte-based mounted Light Horse reenactment troupe will be posted at the entrance gate and then do a lap of honour ahead of the A Grade football match.
Among the sporting highlights are a major Ambrose golf tournament on Sunday.
Robe 2 Recovery was founded in 2015 and supports veterans of the Australian Defence Force.
They are provided with subsidised holidays at Robe thanks to the generosity of local families and businesses.
Meanwhile, the annual Anzac Day Service at Robe will commence at the war memorial at dawn on April 25.
Veterans, and members of the public wearing medals, who wish to march, should assemble in front of the Robe RSL sub-branch Hall in Victoria Street.
Community groups and individuals are invited to lay a wreath during the service.
Staged by the Robe RSL, all are welcome to attend the service and a breakfast will follow.
