Vise takes the prize

KEN DANCEY – GOLF

A SMALL field of 12 players enjoyed a Stableford round on Wednesday with Tyler Vise (15) blitzing the field with a score of 39 points from Roy McCallum (11) on a countback on 33 from Mauricre Faroe, also on 33.

Nearest the pins went to Rob Muller on the 2nd, Ian Thompson the 8th and 17th, Roy McCallum the 13th and Richard Layley took second shot on the 9th.

Who was the player who had a nearest the pin which finished 9inches from the pin and ended up with a par?

Women’s

WOMEN’S results were similar to the men’s on Saturday, with only two players breaking the ton (we now have enough players to enter two teams in the mixed cricket tournaments).

Winner on the day was Sharon McGrath (24) 96 from Heather Gill (20) 97.

Nearest the pins went to Michelle Radford on the 2nd, Denise Gill the 8th, Heather Gill the 13th and Denise Newell the 17th.

Saturday

SATURDAY’s second round of the championships winner was Peter Larkins with a 68 from Richard Layley (14) with a score of 69.

Nearest the pins went to Jordan McCallum on the 2nd, Jessie Smith the 8th, A Skinner the 13th and Richard Layley the 17th; second shot on the 9th went to Gene Thompson.

Cannot update the championship score as several players had their first game this week in an attempt to qualify.

Next week will be a Stableford round followed by the final qualifying round of stroke.

Who was that player who improved his score by 11 shots from last week?

Well done, Wazza.
