The Millicent Squash Club is planning on holding a racquetball event on the June holiday long weekend.
Currently the club holds a weekly social table tennis competition on Monday mornings and a weekly squash pennant competition on Wednesday nights.
The committee has been looking at other activities that could be held at the facility.
Racquetball is an obvious choice as it is played on a squash court.
A chance visit to the Millicent club by two Adelaide based racquetball players, Zoe and Steve, is the reason behind the June long weekend event.
Zoe and Steve offered to not only help with the event but also will bring a bus load of racquetball players with them.
The event will commence at 11am on June 8 with come and try sessions and a singles competition commencing at 1pm.
A barbecue tea will be provided for a gold coin donation.
June 9 will start at 8am with a bacon and egg breakfast and a gold coin donation is again suggested.
A junior squash coaching session and racquetball come and try session from 9am with a doubles racquet ball competition at 10am.
The event is scheduled to wind up at 3pm.
The club is keen to hold a racquetball social or pennant competition in the future if there is enough interest shown after the long weekend.
All in all a great way to keep active and fit, and organisers are looking forward to a fun weekend.
Anyone interested in attending should contact the club.
