‘Warrior Queen’ Adelaide bound

Mount Gambier model Brooke Holmes will take off to Adelaide to be part of the Country Girl Management (CGM) modelling team this weekend.

Ms Holmes will attend the CGM ‘Redefined’ event, which she attended back in 2021 and won, being crowned the ‘Warrior Queen’.

Ms Holmes said her role will involve encouraging and helping the other girls during their photoshoot for their modelling portfolio.

“It is a big stepping stone for the girls because if they have never done modelling before they are going to need a bit of help,” she said.

“I stand with them with the photos, I invite them over to the computer and go through all their photos with them and help pick their portfolios.

“I am there at 8.30am, so I am there during the whole event, so I would say I will be around the girls, having a chat, making them feel comfortable and being a good role model as someone who won it in 2021.”

Ms Holmes took a break from modelling due to work commitments and said when CGM invited her to be a part of her team she thought the offer was too good to be true.

“When they messaged me, I thought this is a great way to get back into it, it is a good pathway I think and it is something different, I have never done anything like this, and especially paid work,” she said.

Ms Holmes said she was very excited to attend and said her sister Monique would come along for the ride.

“She is my number one supporter, she came up with me in 2021 with mum and she was great, she was a really, really good support,” she said.

Ms Holmes believed her personality was what set her apart from others to be selected as part of the CGM team.

“Instead of just being that basic model, you have got personality to it, so you are not just looks, you have got your personality, and I think that is what set me apart,” she said.

“I was so welcoming, I interacted with all of the girls no matter what they looked like and I got along really well with Katie, who runs it, I got along with her so well and I think she saw me as a leader, I was leading the catwalk in 2021 and she remembered me.”

Ms Holmes is passionate about helping other girls feel comfortable in their own skin and said attending the event would be beneficial for both herself and the other girls.

“It does not matter what size you are, what skin colour, what anything, you can do it, it does not matter,” she said.

Ms Holmes said she did not have any set plans for her modelling career and would see what the future held, but the go-getter has big aspirations.

“I think this is the next thing, I just want to be picked as an agency and go be on a billboard, that would be great,” she said.

“I would like to go travelling a little bit, but depending on how big the opportunity is, it is definitely something to think about.

“I would love to be working alongside with them and go and travel Australia, even if it is just for a short term, and give it a go and see if I like it.”
