Weather plays havoc on courts

Mount Gambier and District Tennis Association players battled on as Mother Nature threw all four seasons at them on the weekend.

While the junior players had a weekend off due to the Mount Gambier Christmas Parade, the seniors faced thunder, rain and even sunshine in round 6 of Division 1.

West Gambier achieved a win of 12-72 to 0-24 against Uniting

There was plenty of action throughout the contest with Centrals/Uniting/Gambier taking a grand slam win against Mount Schank 10-64-30.

Glencoe claimed another win against Reidy, keeping them in top spot on the Division 1 ladder.

West Gambier is sitting in second place after their win against Uniting.

Centrals/Uniting/Gambier have been able to keep their position for another week while Reidy Park now sit fourth.

Uniting and Mount Schank land in the last two final positions on the ladder.

In the mixed doubles, Centrals defeated Mount Gambier Blue, 34-20.

Moorak Gold had a smashing game against Mount Schank, winninig 33-16.

Glencoe defeated Moorak Green 25-14 and Suttontown was too good for Mount Gambier Green 32-19.

The Ladies doubles only managed to finish one full game this weekend as Uniting defeated Mil Lel, 34-23.

Reidy Park forfeited against Allendale East, while Glencoe and West Gambier were able to sneak in three games before being washed out.

Here’s hoping fine weather is just around the corner.
