Winners are grinners

Dozens of golfers took to the Mount Burr course of the Millicent Golf Club on Sunday when it held a 4 Ball Ambrose Competition.


Even though the weather was unpredictable, it was an enjoyable day and attracted a field of avid golfers, social golfers and non-golfers.


Visitors included members of Lucindale, Naracoorte and Beachport Golf Clubs as well as members from Victorian golf clubs of Serviceton and Axedale.


Volunteers cooked up a barbecue for the players to enjoy whilst playing and this was appreciated by all.


The winners of the day were 1st John Facey, James Varcoe, Kym Dodd, Darryn Tilley 52.125; 2nd Michael Thomas, Matthew Raddon, Kallan Jennings, Alan Schultz 53.625; 3rd Ian Gould, Josh Smith, Shannon Higgins, Shawn Menz (Lucindale) 55.625; 4th Clark Falting, Jamie Bellinger, Stephen Kuhl, Trevor Atkinson 55.875; 5th Liam Chant, Dylan Vanderhorst, Rhys Gamble, Brodie Gregory 56.0; 6th Simon Howe, Geoff Cameron, Doug Lang, Noah Lang 56.375; 7th Andy Varcoe, Bronwyn Clarke, Mark Pretty, Heidi Ellis 56.875.


Nearest to Pin on the Par 3 holes: 3rd for Women – Shannon Higgins (Lucindale), 5th for Non Golfers – Dylan Vanderhorst, 13th for Men – Ashton Lindner, 17th for all Players – Henry Norcock (Naracoorte).
