In accordance with the club’s heat policy, 24 women hit off between 6.30am and 8am am last Wednesday to participate in a stable-ford round and escape the high temperatures.

Jennifer Van Rijthoven who has been playing close to her handicap over the last few weeks returned to the clubhouse with a top score of 38 points. Her two even rounds included a birdie on the seventeenth hole.

One shot further back was regular placegetter, Vicki Clark who had a slow start, but finished strongly on the homeward nine to card 37 points for her round. Hope Bliss finished third with an even round of 36 points.

Next Wednesday the fourth round of the Summer Salver will be a par competition with the third round of the Summer Salver (stroke) rescheduled for Wednesday, April 7. One of the early morning players, Heather Chapman held the lead all day when 20 ladies played in the par competition on Saturday.

Chapman registered a score of 1 down to claim the winner’s voucher from Di O’Donnell one shot further back with 2 down on a countback from Lyn Hudson.
