Kyby Tigers v Demons
In a riveting clash at McDonald Park, the Kyby Tigers Under 16 Girls emerged victorious against the Demons in Round 1 of the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League.
From the onset, Kyby Tigers showed dominance, kicking 12 points in the first quarter, while the Demons kept in touch with one goal.
The second quarter saw an intensified performance from both teams, but the Tigers extended their lead as the side finished the quarter on 24 points to the Demons’ nine.
The Tigers continued to showcase their dominance, kicking away in the third quarter and finishing with a commanding 35 point lead.
Kyby maintained its strong performance in the final term and managed to keep the Demons scoreless for another quarter.
The end of the term saw the Tigers securing a well-deserved victory with a final score of 56 points to the Demons’ nine.
Standout performances from Summer Batchelor, Chloe Copping, Elise Hahn, Alice McKenzie and Paige Rasheed earned them best players for Kyby Tigers.
On the Demons’ side, Isabella Morello demonstrated individual brilliance, earning her the title of best player.
Louise Williams was also impressive for Kyby Tigers with two goals for the match.
Hatherleigh v Tigers
Hatherleigh has sent a message to the rest of the competition with an impressive 56 point win over the Tigers U16 Girls in the opening Round of the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League.
From the onset, Hatherleigh set the tone, accumulating a significant 20 point lead in the first quarter.
The Tigers struggled to make an impact, being held scoreless.
By halftime, Hatherleigh had extended their lead to 32 points, and managed to keep the Tigers scoreless going into the main break.
Hatherleigh maintained control in the third term, adding more majors to its total and once again its defence was all over the Tigers; attack, keeping them scoreless for the third quarter straight.
In the final quarter the Tigers finally impacted the scoreboard, kicking a goal to finish the match with seven points on the board.
Hatherleigh’s lead was too much and they ran out the final quarter to finish with a 56 point lead, securing the Round 1 victory with a final score of 63 points to the Tigers’ seven.
Hatherleigh’s standout performers included Mackenzie Burke, Niah Faulkner, Amber Chester, Sebella Coghlan and Piper Paul.
On the Tigers’ side, notable efforts came from Raine Darimaani, Grace Altschwager, Becky Davis, Stella Davis, Lilly Gordon and Eadie Mustart.
Amber Chester was top scorer for the match with an impressive four goals.
Hatherleigh’s comprehensive performance earned them a well-deserved victory which sees them sit on top of the ladder after round one.
