Women’s health in spotlight

Women of the Limestone Coast were recently treated a myriad of health resources as part of National Women’s Health Week.

Women’s Health @ Hawkins and Two Lines Fertility catered a new women’s health event with speakers, stalls and classes on offer.

The “What you NEED – Your Women’s Health Toolbox” was a one-day only event at Wulanda Recreation Centre last week.

The event ensured women keen to keep up to date with the most accurate health information possible, while also highlighting some of the services available to the women of the Limestone Coast.
Any woman, regardless of their stage of life, was provided with a range of women’s health and lifestyle topics to assist in answering any questions.

A myriad of topics were discussed, including contraception, budget management, hormones, pelvic floor, breast cancer, endometriosis, fertility, sporting injury prevention, mental health and menopause.

Activities and entertainment included mums and bubs fitness, line dancing, pilates, meditation and walking netball.

Among the presenters were Dr Monique Kanters, Dr Temalesi Windust, Dr Dani Woods, Lucy Lines, Megan Watt, Sarah Coshan, Shylie Harrison, Jill Gillmore, Tarsh McCallum and Alma Mcilduff.
