Woonallee bulls in high demand

Prices were up on the 2022 figures at the recent annual Baker family cattle sale at their Woonallee Simmental stud at Furner.

A gathering of 250 witnessed the 16th annual sale which was again a sell-out.

The highest-price bull of the 113 on offer was sold to a New Zealand enterprise for $60,000 and was lot two.

Woonallee Secret Service S086 was sold to Gold Creek Simmentals and Agri-Gene.

The overall average for the traditional, black and Sim Angus bulls was $15,009.

The 2022 sale saw 112 bulls change hands for an average of $14,300 and a high of $55,000.

As in the previous 15 sales, the Baker family provided lunch and dinner and refreshments to all in attendance at the sale.

Catering was provided by Lumberjack barbecues and Java Café.

The selling agents were Nutrien and Elders while online bids came via Auctions Plus and Elite Livestock Auctions.
