Writer inks ongoing book deal

Former South East journalist Maya Linnell has signed contracts for two more books with high-end publisher Allen and Unwin.

They will be published in 2026 and 2027.

Ms Linnell has submitted the manuscript to the publishers for her 2025 novel which is due out mid-year.

She said it will again be set in the Limestone Coast and feature the characters Fergus and Maggie from her latest best-selling rural romance novel Wallaby Lane.

“Many thanks to the wonderful team at Allen and Unwin,” she said.

“I’m excited to be working with you again for books eight and nine, and telling the stories of strong country women in rural Australia.”
