Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill steps up safety efforts

Masks are now compulsory around-the-clock for all 400 company employees and contractors at the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill.

It is understood the COVID-safe edict took effect on January 1.

The SE Voice sought clarification from KCA and a company spokesperson provided a written response.

“We have a number of COVID-safe measures in place at the Millicent Mill to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees,” the spokesperson said.

“Masks are required to be worn at all times, unless consuming food or drink seated in a lunchroom where social distancing is observed.

“Temperature testing and health declarations will continue to be required when entering the Millicent Mill.

“Visitors and contractors will also be required to show proof of COVID vaccination.”

KCA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation of the USA which has manufacturing and sales operations in 175 countries.

The Kimberly-Clark Corporation has taken extra precautions globally at its office, mill and distribution centre operations and they were developed in line with guidance from global health authorities.

Some of the enhanced safety measures include encouraging employees to stay home when they feel unwell, regular cleaning of work areas, shift rotations, distancing reminders where people gather, implementing temperature scans at entry points, and where applicable, enhancing paid leave policies.
